Congratulations to our varsity athletes who were named to the CIS Academic All-Canadian list or received an OUA Academic Achievement Award for the 2010-11 season

Thursday, October 6, 2011

Congratulations to our Faculty of Science varsity athletes who were named to the Canadian Interuniversity Sport Academic All-Canadian list or received an Ontario University Athletics Academic Achievement Awards for the 2010-11 season.

Student-athletes who maintain a grade point average of 80 per cent or better over the academic year while competing for at least one of their university’s varsity teams are recognized as Academic All-Canadians. Those who participate in sports that are offered at the OUA level only are recognized with an OUA Academic Achievement Award.

“This is a tremendous achievement for all of these student-athletes” said Jennifer Brenning, Carleton’s director of recreation and athletics. “It speaks to the quality of athletes Carleton is attracting. We are very proud of their accomplishments and extremely appreciative of all their hard work and the sacrifices they make.”

Every year, a growing number of CIS student-athletes are recognized as Academic All-Canadians. In 2010-2011, a record 2,398 students achieved the prestigious status, eclipsing the previous mark of 2,299 set a year ago.

Below is a list of this year’s outstanding Ravens student-athletes from the Faculty of Science.
