Have you ever wondered how you can get more involved in the Carleton University Science community? Do you want to help start one of the biggest movements in the Faculty of Science? Then run for a council position in the Carleton Science Student Society (CSSS), a council of students who will play a huge role in improving undergraduate life in the Faculty of Science.
Help improve engagement in the faculty, make new academic and professional connections, and increase the number of events that bring students in the Faculty of Science together. The CSSS council’s job will be to make students' undergraduate career at Carleton as socially and professionally rewarding as possible.
The three documents mentioned below will be available on the Science Student Success Centre (SSSC) website as of Friday, February 11.
- The CSSS Constitution is just like any other constitution, and outlines the guidelines and rules the members of the council must follow while they complete each term.
- The CSSS Policy Manual contains a complete description of each executive/department representative’s position, and details what each candidate is expected or required to do while completing a term. (Note that a few minor points in the manual will only be accomplished after the CSSS has been running for its first year.)
- The Writ of Elections contains the rules and regulations governing the CSSS elections process including the start, end, and duration of the nomination period, the date time and location of the all candidates meeting, dates and conditions of the campaigning and voting periods.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the elections, please contact CEO Andrew Campbell at cssselections [at] gmail [dot] com.
If you are interested in obtaining a seat on the CSSS council, pick up anomination form from the SSSC in 1152HP or download a copy from the SSSC website next week. Nomination forms for the 2011-2012 academic year are available from Wednesday, February 9 until Wednesday, February 16.
