A variety of health & safety training sessions are being held throughout the winter term

As we head into the winter academic session, it’s time to once again focus on Safety Training. To register for any of these workshops listed below please visit Carleton Central—Learning and Development.

Health and Safety Training for Supervisors
Are you in charge of a workplace? Do you have authority over another worker? The Occupational Health and Safety Act defines such individuals as a supervisor. Training for supervisors is mandatory for all Carleton personnel with supervisory responsibilities.
If your workplace is a laboratory or similar environment, register for the lab version.
For all other supervisors, register for the standard version.

Health and Safety for Supervisors: Wednesday, February 20 @ 9 a.m. – noon

Working in a Laboratory?
Meet your requirement for training by attending one of the following sessions.
Biosafety: February (date and time to be confirmed)
Lab Safety: Wednesday, January 23 @ 8:30 a.m. – noon
Lab Safety: March (date and time to be confirmed)

Transportation of Dangerous Goods
Are you required to ship or transport hazardous materials? Are you responsible for hazardous waste and for signing off on shipping manifests? Both international and federal legislation requires that any such individuals be regularly trained in Transportation of Dangerous Goods. Training is mandatory for all Carleton personnel with these responsibilities.
