The Faculty of Science would like to applaud every student who participated in the Lap the Gaps for Parkinson’s on May 31st. The team Lesioned Amygdalas represented Carleton and raised a total of $1600 for this amazing cause! Lap the Gats for Parkinson’s is a charitable cycling event that takes place in Gatineau Park to raise funds for Parkinson’s disease research (http://www.lapthegats.org/event-information.html).

Kyla Vanderzwet and Nazneen Rustom helped organize the event, and many students from Carleton join their team as cyclists on a mission to raise money and awareness for Parkinson’s disease. A grand total of $1600 worth of donations were raised by Carleton cyclists who conducted personal fundraising as well as organized two events including a Pub Crawl and an event at Fitness Corner South.

Another special thanks to the Raven's Rhythm Cheerleading Team also came to the event which was a highlight for everyone involved.

We hope to see even more people out next year in support of raising research funding to fight Parkinson’s disease!
