We are now accepting applications for Math Matters 2014 leaders. Not only are the positions paid, but they will also help you build leadership experience. Math Matters takes place from August 20 to August 27, 2014, and mandatory training for all leaders will take place on Monday, August 18.
Leaders prepare students for first-year Carleton math courses by reviewing important high school math concepts. Special focus is placed on helping students learn how to learn the material being covered in the courses—discussing different ways to approach the material, applying concepts to a variety of problems, and recapping important ideas that need to be mastered.
Leaders also help students make a successful transition to Carleton by familiarizing them with campus and on-campus resources, such as the Math Tutorial Centre (MTC), Science Student Success Centre (SSSC), and Learning Support Services (LSS).
You can apply for one of three positions:
Math Matters Student Supervisor (one position)
Math Matters Study Group Leader (6-8 positions)
Math Matters Residence Monitor (two positions)
