Pitch your innovative community-university partnership projects in the Ravens’ Den!

Carleton University’s Committee on Community Engaged Pedagogy (CCEP) is hosting its 3rd annual Community Engagement event on Oct. 23 featuring the Ravens’ Den in which members of the Carleton community will pitch ideas to a panel of judges to win a share of $3,500 in seed money to help start a new community partnership project or to extend an already existing project in a new direction. As well, projects may be eligible for additional funds from FutureFunder, Carleton’s crowdsourcing website!

Our Ravens’ Den judges are: Carleton Prof. Ted Jackson, Mary Hegan of Ottawa’s Eco-Talent Network, Ottawa Riverkeeper Meredith Brown and Michael Oster of the Biodome Project.

All pitches must meet the criteria listed at carleton.ca/edc/cu-events/3rd-annual-community-engagement-event/ in order to be considered. A committee made up of members of the CCEP will review all of the submissions and will select 5 projects to proceed to the Ravens’ Den and go before a live audience .

Date: Oct. 23
Time: 9 a.m. to noon
Location: River Building conference rooms and Atrium (located on second floor)

We encourage pitches from faculty members and instructors in all fields of study at Carleton, in partnership with community-based organizations of any type, whether private sector, public sector, or non-profit.

In addition to the Ravens' Den, there will be a Showcase where faculties and community organizations will be given the opportunity to highlight their community-based projects. Space is limited. To sign up for this option, please contact Ashley Fleischer at Ashley [dot] Fleischer [at] carleton [dot] ca .

The event is a great opportunity to network with your Carleton colleagues, as well as community organizations that are interested in forging partnerships.

This event is supported by the Office of the Provost and the Discovery Centre.

See you on Oct. 23!
