It is time to elect new Senators. There is 1 vacancy for Senate in the Faculty of Science and the nomination period is now open!
The term on Senate for elected faculty is three years, and such members are eligible for re-election. Individuals may self-nominate or be nominated by others. Three colleagues must support each candidate’s nomination. Each candidate should email either a self-nomination or acceptance of a nomination by others to the Clerk of Senate at clerkofsenate [at] carleton [dot] ca AND arrange for their three supporters to send emails as well.
Nominations must be received by noon on Wednesday on April 16, 2014.
Once nominations are received and if there are more candidates than positions, there will be an election for the Senate seat. All Faculty Board members have the right to vote. Elections will be held on-line and each member of the Faculty Board will receive a unique URL to cast their vote. Elections will be held from April 22nd to April 29th. The candidates will be informed of the outcome shortly thereafter and the results will be announced at the Senate meeting of May 30, 2014. If there are not more candidates than the position, then the candidate will be acclaimed.
