Library Road Pedestrian Improvements

Monday, March 16, 2015

To All Faculty and Staff,

On March 23, construction will begin on Library Road, near the parking lot beside the Mackenzie Building, to install a permanent gate that will close the road to through traffic. Access for emergency vehicles will not be impacted. A bicycle lane will allow cyclists to access the road.

This construction is expected to last for about a week.

There will be signs posted along Library Road and Campus Avenue, warning motorists that the road is closed and no longer a thoroughfare.

This initiative is the first step to improving pedestrian safety along Library Road and is in keeping with the priorities outlined in the Campus Master Plan.

The other future improvement to Library Road includes reconfiguring the traffic circle near the Canal Building, which will increase safety at that location.
