Currently in its sixth year, the Research Internship is accepting faculty applications for summer 2015. Faculty supervise international senior undergraduates who travel to Canada to undertake research projects of mutual interest.

Michael Lutaaya, a second-year Computer Science student at Carleton University, has developed Bins, an iPhone app that makes keeping up with Ottawa's garbage and recycling schedule simple. On April 29 Bins will be available for free from the App Store!

Please be reminded that all student employees working at Carleton University are required to complete Worker Health and Safety Awareness and WHMIS training.

The good news is there are two ways they can take this training: online or by attending a training seminar.

The online training will be available as of May 1, 2014 by logging into cuLearn at: https://carleton.ca/culearn/.

During these two days, we will be unable to sell any of our stock or place any orders. Please make arrangements with PeterMosher [at] Cunet [dot] Carleton [dot] Ca (Peter Mosher) beforehand if you require liquid nitrogen or dry ice.

We will still be receiving deliveries and labs will be notified if any perishables arrive.

Carleton Biology Professor Bruce McKay has been awarded a Canada Foundation for Innovation John R. Evans Leaders Fund grant, designed to help universities attract and retain the best researchers at a time of intense international competition. Dr. McKay will receive $157,600 to pursue his research on genomics.

The much anticipated particle physics documentary film Particle Fever will be opening at the Mayfair Theatre in Ottawa on Friday, April 11.  It will be introduced by Carleton Prof. Heather Logan from the Department of Physics, who will take questions after the film.
